Biography
Jennifer Ruel joined University of òòò½ÎÑÊÓƵ in 2008. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Oakland University (2007), a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix and a Post Master's Certificate - Family Nurse Practitioner from University of òòò½ÎÑÊÓƵ. She holds ANCC board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP). She also holds a post-doctoral certification in Integrative/Functional Medicine (ABAAHP).
Ruel and has been teaching in the FNP & DNP programs at òòò½ÎÑÊÓƵ since 2008 and previously taught for six years at the University of Arizona. She is the current program coordinator for the FNP and ENP programs at UDM.
In addition to her work at òòò½ÎÑÊÓƵ, Ruel maintains an active clinical practice in integrative/functional primary care and urgent/emergent care. She maintains active scholarship and has been published in national professional peer-reviewed journals and a book chapter as well as disseminated her work at national conferences. She is chair for DNP projects of all APRN specialties.
Ruel is passionate about advanced practice nursing, wellness and well-being, health promotion, integrative/functional care, alternative modalities to health and anti-aging management, women’s health, quality improvement, informatics, urgent/emergency care and advanced procedures.
