Writing Center Workshops
The Writing Center offers students the opportunity to attend workshops, which are held approximately twice a month, throughout the fall and winter semesters.
Schedule of upcoming workshops
The Writing Center at the University of òòò½ÎÑÊÓƵ is offering three upcoming online training sessions to help student writers improve their writing and critical thinking skills.
All sessions will be held on Tuesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. online.
The sessions are as follows:
Integrating Source Material - Jan. 21
Participants will learn effective methods for incorporating research and citations into scholarly projects.
Using Microsoft Word for Formatting and References - Feb. 4
Learners will review essential tools in MS Word for professional document formatting and reference management.
Avoiding Plagiarism - Feb. 18
The host will review tools and strategies to ensure originality and proper source acknowledgment and citation.
- All workshops last about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Students who are interested in attending should reserve their space in a workshop.

University of òòò½ÎÑÊÓƵ faculty are invited to request Writing Center workshops. Workshops are an excellent way to introduce students to specialized topics in writing and to give students a chance to practice writing skills. You may request a workshop by contacting Writing Center Director Erin Bell at bellee@udmercy.edu or via phone at ext. 1289.
Workshops are provided by the director and may be co-taught by writing consultants with topic-specific training. Workshops can be held in your classroom or via Zoom or Blackboard Collaborate.

- The Writing Center will provide proof of attendance to professors upon request.
